  1. The relationship between Steven and his parents is he doesn't really talk with his dad they just stare at each other and don't really have any conversations. Steven and his mom don't talk that much either just when she's home. Steven plays board games with Jeffery and talks to him every night when he is home. Steven had to turn Renee away but now they are talking more and becoming friends. Steven was mad at Annette before for giving him lectures but he's kind of getting use to that.
I think Steven is handling Jeffery's illness like anyone else would. He's trying to make compromises like if he does something or passes a test Jeffery will be better. He maybe could handle it a little better but his brother is sick so he's handling it fine.

  2. 1. The relationship that Steven has with his parents, Renee and Annette are all different. His parents are looking out for Jeffrey more than Steven and Renee finally noticed his brother's sickness. Annette also noticed Jeffery's sickness too. They both feel really bad about Jeffery and feel sorry for Steven because he went through a stage where he didn't finish any of his homework and thought that everything was pointless. His relationship with Renee changed a lot then because she wanted to help him but she was sick and couldn't. Annette wants to help too, but I think that Steven is stubborn.
    3. The author uses so many capital letters to get the feeling out of the person talking which is usually Steven. I really like how the author does this because it adds more emotion to the story and makes it more interesting. The author also likes using () to explain unnecessary things which I think is really cool.

  3. I agree with you JS0413! Steven is handling Jeffery's illness like any brother or family member should. I think he should be more supportive of his family too. He gets a long with Jeffery because he understands that Jeffery is just a little kid dealing with something huge!Steven could also not take out his anger on others because really, they are just trying to help and that's how any protective older brother should act because he really cares for his little bro!

  4. BC0921 I like how the author uses capital letters too. It does add more emotion. I like how it's wrote too it's not like a normal book. I think the () for unnecessary things is cool too. I think more books should be like this. It's fun to read.

  5. 1. Steven's relationship with his parents is distant. It like they're there but they don't really talk much. After Steven turned down Renee she was mad at him but now they're talking more and becoming better friends. Annette is more like a parent to Steven than his parents are because she lectures him and wants him to talk about his feelings. Jeffery and Steven's relationship is pretty good now that Jeffery is sick Steven is more careful about what he asks to him.
2.I think that Steven is handling Jeffery's illness the best he can at the moment because it's still a new concept to him.

  6. I agree with JS0413 and BC0921 the unnecessary little comments are awesome to read because it gives you the feel like Steven is actually writing the book.

  7. 1. The relationship that Steven has with his 'rents has changed since they found out about Jeffry. He is less open to them and always seems to be kind of angry. With Jeffry, he tries to be a good brother but sometimes gets mad or annoyed. But then he feels bad about it. So he usually plays with Jeffry, or does what he wants. With Annett, Steven and her have gotten closer and they are good friends, better than before. And with Renee, she is finally starting to notice him and she is helping him out.

    2. I don't think there is a certain way the Steven should be handling Jeffry's illness, but I think he is doing a good job. It would be hard for anyone to handle and Steven is trying his hardest.

  8. I agree with kk11/04 that Steven has a distant relationship with his 'rents. He has been pushing away from them ever since the whole thing started.

  9. 1. I think that Jeffery and Steven have a good relationship now. It sounds like before they found out about Jeffery's illness, Steven was not as nice to him, and now he regrets the mean things he did to his brother. Steven and his parents are not very close. Steven doesnt get very much attention now that they have to pay close attention to Jeffery. Steven wants his mom and dad to pay attention to him. Steven and Annette get along good. I think Annette gets on Steven's nerves sometimes always asking what is wrong, and how he is doing. Renee is talking to Steven now, and before he thought she didnt even know he existed.
    3. I think the author writes with capital letters to show how the people feel if there is a lot of expression. The author wants you to know how the character is feeling, and wants it to stand out.

  10. I agree with MF0209. Steven is handling Jeffery's illness in a good way. And I also think it would be hard to handle.
